A teen wanted for a shooting at a Lake City apartment complex is in custody after turning himself in.
The Lake City Police Department announced Tuesday that 18-year-old Jaedyn Washington turned himself in without incident. He was wanted in connection with a July 7 shooting at Cedar Park Apartments. A warrant was issued for Washington’s arrest earlier this month.
He has been charged with grand theft of a firearm, aggravated battery and armed robbery.
Last month, a victim had arranged to sell a firearm to Jaquary Pratt, a 22-year-old from Live Oak, according to LCPD.
When Pratt arrived for the meeting, he brought two black males with him, one of whom drew a firearm and pointed it at the victim’s head, according to an LCPD release.
When the victim pushed the firearm away, it discharged and the victim was shot in a lower extremity, the LCPD release states. The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment and is stable.
Pratt turned himself in days later and was charged with grand theft of a firearm, armed robbery and aggravated battery.
Washington was also arrested last August on a warrant for possession of a firearm by a juvenile delinquent after he was identified in a photo of a group of teens posing with a firearm.
