Farmer
An early February shooting victim has been arrested on drug charges.
The Lake City Police Department arrested Kristophfer Farmer, a 21-year-old from Wellborn, on Wednesday for possession of narcotics, possession of cocaine, possession of drugs, intent to sell and possession of a firearm while committing a felony.
The drugs and firearm were found in Farmer’s vehicle Feb. 3 after he was shot while driving on U.S. Highway 90.
Farmer, who suffered two gunshot wounds, told officers that he was driving west on U.S. 90 when a gray SUV pulled alongside his car, a yellow Camaro, and began shooting into the car around 9 p.m.
The incident occurred near ABC Fine Wine & Spirits at the NW Ridgewood Avenue intersection. Farmer stopped his car in the hedges lining the parking lot to Cedar River Seafood and then exited the car and fled on foot.
The lone occupant in the car, Farmer was transported by EMS for non-life-threatening injuries.
But officers found a Glock 23 containing 18 rounds in the magazine and one live round in the chamber between the driver seat and center console of Farmer’s car, according to an LCPD release announcing Farmer’s arrest Thursday. It was confiscated by LCPD.
The car was impounded to allow officers time to complete their investigation. Once a search warrant was obtained, the car was searched and led to the discovery of a cut straw, a large pill bottle contained two plastic bags of a white powdery substance, a plastic bag containing a white crystal substance, a plastic bag containing 10 Acetaminophen and Oxycodone pills, two Crown Royal bags containing several miscellaneous plastic bags, five DNA swabs, two projectiles and a pair of phones — a purple iPhone and a grey eTalk flip phone.
The substances tested positive for methamphetamine, Alpha-PVP and cocaine.
