The seventh annual Parade of Homes will feature a bit of a new look.

North Florida’s premier new-home building showcase will feature some new builders taking part, an expansion into Suwannee County and some new trends and looks, even from some of the returning members of the Columbia County Builders’ Association.

The Parade of Homes, which is co-produced by the Columbia County Builders’ Association and the Lake City Reporter, will take place Saturday, April 27, and Sunday, April 28, with eight homes open to the public for tours from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday and noon to 4 p.m. on Sunday.

Lake City Title returns as the event’s Platinum Sponsor.

Also returning to the Parade of Homes is IC Construction, a mainstay during the event’s history. Still, Isaiah Cully, of IC Construction and the Vice President of the Builders’ Association, said his homes on the tour this year will offer a different look than those in year’s past.

The two homes from IC Construction, one off NW Old Mill Road off Lake Jeffery Road and the other in The Oaks of Lake City off SW Tustenuggee Avenue, are part of the company’s IC Signature Series. Cully said it will be the first time he has been able to showcase Signature Series homes, which was launched in 2019, on the Parade.

“We’re very pleased to be a part of the Parade of Homes,” Cully said. “Two extremely exclusive custom homes, kind of fun seeing the trends turn a little bit.”

The past several years, most of the homes from IC Construction have a distinct black and white look on the exterior.

This year’s entries, the 4,089-square-foot home on NW Old Mill Road and the 5,760-square foot home in The Oaks, break away from that. There will also be new designs and custom finishes inside the homes as well.

“Everybody has seemed to love and enjoy,” Cully said of the past look, “but it’s fun to see what’s around the curve. Different metal textures, appliance packages and color tones that are changing. A lot of mixed finishes, even on exterior elevations such as painted brick and pavered driveways and things of that sort.”

Those new trends and new looks are sure to catch the attention of the thousands of residents that annually come out to tour the homes on the free event to see the latest local builders have to offer.

“It’s exciting to hear that last year’s event was so successful that we’ve got people moving to the area and building homes for the first time and existing builders continue to build homes,” said Rob Stewart, owner of Lake City Title. “I’m happy that this event is showing results for the builders.”

Those who do attend this year’s event will also be able to see some new builders with DWC Construction entering a home in Columbia County and Altman Construction showcasing a house in Live Oak, along with two from GSMS Developers for Suwannee County’s debut in the Parade.

“We have eight beautiful homes ready to display with welcoming floor plans and excellent amenities,” said Lake City Reporter Publisher Todd Wilson. “The craftsmanship put into these homes by our local builders is exquisite. This year, we’re very excited to have a couple new builders joining us and we look forward to welcoming everyone out to see these beautiful homes and visit with the builders.”

Other builders with homes on this year’s event  are Gibraltar Contracting and Bryan Zecher Homes, both in the Country Lake at Woodborough neighborhood on the northwest side of Lake City.

“It’s exciting to see eight homes in this year’s Parade of Homes and to see new builders with new concepts showcased in these beautiful homes,” said Zecher, Columbia County Builders Association president. “On behalf of the Builders Association, we hope everyone will come out and enjoy a beautiful weekend and visit all of these homes.”

Silver Sponsors for the Parade include First Federal Bank, IC Construction, Trent Giebeig Construction and Tri-County Tree Service.

“We appreciate all of our sponsors that help us make this event happen,” Wilson said. “This is the seventh annual event and it is a free event so I encourage everyone to come out and tour these homes.”
