Columbia County property owners won’t face a new tax to fund emergency medical services next year.
There also won’t be a new line on tax notices dedicated to funding the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office either.
The Columbia County Commission didn’t take action on implementing either proposed Municipal Service Taxing Unit during its board meeting Thursday, not even holding the public hearing on the matter as County Manager David Kraus said at the start of the meeting that there wasn’t interest in pursuing those tax avenues at the moment.
