Davis
A pair of McDonald’s employees weren’t loving it Tuesday morning when one fired a shot at the other following a fight.
Jaden Davis, a 24-year-old Lake City man, was arrested by the Lake City Police Department and charged with attempted homicide among other charges following the shooting outside the McDonald’s at the corner of SW Main Boulevard and SW Baya Drive around 10:45 a.m. Tuesday.
According to LCPD, Davis and another McDonald’s employee got into a verbal argument in the restaurant’s kitchen, which then became a physical fight.
After the pair were separated and went outside, the fight resumed on the south side of the restaurant closest to SW Baya Drive, according to Sgt. Mike Lee, an LCPD spokesman.
When the other employee attempted to leave, Davis pulled out a firearm and fired a single shot at them, although nobody was hit.
Lee said in addition to potential customers in the parking lot or drive-through lane at McDonalds, a crew of contractors were also working on the outside of the restaurant when the shooting took place.
Responding officers located Davis, who fled the scene, on SW Brown Street as he headed east away from the restaurant.
The LCPD release states Davis, who had the firearm in his waistband, resisted officers but was taken into custody without anybody being injured.
Lee said officers are not certain if Davis was armed inside the restaurant. Witnesses said he did go to his vehicle before the shots were fired.
Davis was also charged with discharging a firearm in public, possession of a firearm during commission of a felony, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, criminal mischief and resisting arrest.
