The Lake Shore Hospital Authority will not meet tonight to discuss further asks from Meridian Healthcare after all.

The LSHA canceled its special-called meeting due to a lack of a quorum, according to LSHA Executive Director Dale Williams. Williams said several members of the LSHA Board of Trustees would not have been available for the meeting, which only had Meridian on the agenda.

The meeting stems from a Feb. 20 letter sent by Meridian CEO/President Lauren Cohn requesting an additional $2.6 million in incentives for work needed on the Lake Shore campus’s main hospital building. Meridian and the LSHA previously agreed on a $2.3 million incentive package, which would be paid through reimbursements on the building work.

However, without a quorum, there was no reason to hold Wednesday’s meeting. The issue will instead be discussed at the Authority’s next regularly scheduled meeting set for March 16 at 5:15 p.m. at Duval Place, located at 971 W. Duval St. Suite #150.
