The Lake City Police Department is seeking public assistance in trying to identify a shooting suspect from the Easter celebration at Annie Mattox Park.
According to the LCPD, shots were fired from several people in the crowd during the event around 8:06 p.m. Sunday. While investigating the incident, in which Lake City Police Officer Marcus Hardison was shot in the right arm, detectives have found video footage of what appears to be someone firing a shot.
Anyone who recognizes the individual, witnessed the incident or has additional video footage is asked to contact LCPD detectives at 386-752-4343.
Total, 19 officers from the LCPD and deputies from the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office were at the park for crowd control at the event, which was attended by thousands of individuals.
Hardison underwent surgery Monday and is recovering.
