GAINESVILLE — A Lake City man was killed Tuesday morning when his semi trailer veered off Interstate 75 in Gainesville.
A Florida Highway Patrol release states that while traveling south on I-75 at 7:50 a.m. Tuesday, a 2012 Volvo truck and trailer drifted onto the right shoulder for unknown reasons, hitting the guardrail near the State Road 24 (Archer Road) exit.
After hitting the guardrail, the truck — which had a trailer full of shingles — traveled down the inclined grass shoulder and collided with several trees.
The semi’s driver, a 55-year-old Lake City man, was killed in the wreck.
