FORT WHITE — A Fort White teenage girl was killed Friday morning in a wreck with a bus in southern Columbia County.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a sedan pulled out from County Road 238 (Elim Church Road) into the intersection with State Road 47 without yielding to a southbound bus around 7 a.m.
The bus and car collided with the 16-year-old driver of the car dying in the crash.
Nobody on the bus, which was driven by a 29-year-old Lake City man, was injured. There were 15 other males on the bus, ranging in age from 19 to 39, all from Lake City and Fort White.
Lt. Pat Riordan, an FHP spokesman, said the bus was used to transport workers to fields for agricultural work.
FHP continues to investigate the crash.
