FHP: Smoke causes concern near I-10, U.S. 41 interchange

A prescribed burn off Bell Road north of Lake City may cause some visibility issues overnight.

The Florida Highway Patrol issued a motorist advisory Monday night about smoke remaining in the area near the U.S. Highway 41 and Interstate 10 interchange.

The release states three large burn piles were burned, leading to the issue. The burn piles are no longer active, according to FHP.

Still, due to the smoke, FHP urges motorists in the area to “use caution.”

“Visibility may deteriorate quickly especially during the nighttime and early morning hours,” according to the advisory.

FHP asks that drivers slow down and use low-beam headlights to adapt to the smoky conditions.
