Feagle
Marlin Feagle can add another title to his resume.
The former attorney for Columbia County and Lake Shore Hospital Authority has been selected as the Fall 2022 Florida Gateway College Distinguished Alumnus of the Year. Feagle will be honored at the college’s fall commencement ceremony at the Howard Center on Dec. 15.
“I am honored and humbled to be recognized as the Fall 2022 Distinguished Alumnus of Florida Gateway College, the best college in the State of Florida,” Feagle said in a release. “This honor is accepted only as a representative for the many Florida Gateway College alumni who are deserving of this recognition. I look forward to continuing to support Florida Gateway College as well as our community, family, and friends.”
Feagle earned his Associate in Arts degree from then-Lake City Junior College and Forest Ranger School in 1967. The CHS graduate then went on to study business administration at the University of Florida. He later graduated with his law degree from UF in 1973, graduating with honors.
Admitted to the Florida Bar in 1974, Feagle began private practice in Lake City.
Feagle, who recently completed a 20-year run as the attorney for the FGC Board of Trustees, was elected the county attorney in 1988 and served in that role for 25 years. He also served as the LSHA attorney for more than 25 years and is a past president of the Columbia County Bar Association.
An active member of the Lake City Kiwanis Club since 1974, Feagle has also won the Florida Bar Pro Bono Service Award previously and was named the 2015 Distinguished Friend of the Foundation by the Foundation for Florida Gateway College.
Feagle and his wife, Diane, life in Lake City. They have two children, Ryan and Mark, four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
