Suwannee County had 81 confirmed covid-19 cases as of Wednesday evening, while Columbia County was up to 34, according to the Florida Department of Health.
Between the two counties, there have been cases involving children as young as 1 and adults as old as 93. Suwannee County saw its first three deaths in recent days, but no virus-related mortalities had yet been reported in Columbia County.
Statewide, Florida was at 22,519 cases and 614 deaths. Nationally, there were 640,791 cases and 28,354 deaths as of 7:40 p.m. Wednesday.
