Columbia County Schools will be back in session Tuesday.
The district announced late Monday morning that all the school facilities in the district have power and are safe for the return of both students and staff.
While power is back on at all of the schools, the district’s release added that phone service remains down at each school, but there is an emergency landline up at each campus. Parents are asked to limit calls to the schools for emergencies only. For non-emergency needs, parents should use Parent Square to contact individual staff members.
Due to a number of areas in Columbia County still without power, the district added that those students affected by power outages will have an excused absence Tuesday with a parent note.
Transportation will run in all accessible areas, according to the district.
All staff members are expected to report to their schools/department as usual, per the district release. Additionally, please note that FTE week counts will resume on Tuesday.
