A Lake City man ran Tuesday but was unable to hide from law enforcement.
According to the Lake City Police Department, an armed 19-year-old Da’zarin Johnson fled from a vehicle Tuesday afternoon after a disturbance at Cedar Park Apartments. While officers were unable to initially apprehend Johnson, who the driver confirmed was the passenger, they later found him at a convenience store.
The LCPD report states Johnson was then arrested and charged with resisting officer with violence and improper exhibition of a firearm.
According to the report, officers responded at 12:53 p.m. Tuesday to the apartment complex on NW Bascom Norris Drive to the report that a person in a silver car pointed a handgun at somebody.
While en route, officers saw the car leaving the area and attempted a traffic stop. The car did not stop at first. Once it eventually did pull over, that is when Johnson got out with a handgun and ran.
