BASEBALL

— Lafayette 10, Fort White 0: Hyatt Richardson went 3 for 3 with a home run and three RBIs, while JT Cook, Bryson Herron and Garrett Taylor each had two RBIs to lead the Class 1A No. 3 Hornets (16-2) to a run-rule victory over the Indians (11-10) in five innings at home in District 6-1A action. Brayden Richardson also drove in a run for LHS, which scored seven of its runs — four earned — on three hits and two walks against FWHS pitcher Aaron Parnell. Evan Buchanan, Noah Lamb and Hyatt Richardson combined to throw a one-hitter with seven strikeouts.

— Suwannee 8, Florida High 3: Hunter Watson went 3 for 4 with a triple and three RBIs, Noah Lopez had two RBIs, and Koy Frier, Kyler Watson and Grayson Bonds each had one RBI to lead the Bulldogs past the Seminoles on the road. Patrick Williams pitched 5 1/3 innings for the win, allowing two unearned runs on four hits and three walks while striking out four.

— Madison County 8, Branford 7: Colby Beard and Austin Humphries each allowed a run over the final two innings and the Buccaneers (7-12) blew a 4-run lead to fall to the Cowboys (13-8) on the road. Tucker Floyd pitched the first 5 1/3 innings, allowing six earned runs on six hits and two walks while striking out four. Troy Roberts had two RBIs to lead BHS offensively, while Floyd and Humphries each had one.

SOFTBALL

— Taylor County 12, Lafayette 2: Clara Knight allowed three earned runs on seven hits and a walk in three innings pitched before Khloe Crotts allowed nine runs — three earned — on five hits and five walks in 2 2/3 innings as the Hornets (8-14) were run-ruled by the Bulldogs (15-5) in six innings on the road. TCHS pitcher Hannah Shiver threw a one-hitter, allowing a lone single to Emma Revels while Knight had a sacrifice RBI.

— Suwannee, Gadsden County FF: The Bulldogs (12-9) won via forfeit over the Jaguars (0-10-1).
