SOFTBALL

— Baker County 3, Fort White 2: The Indians (5-1) suffered their first loss of the season, falling to the Wildcats (4-1) at home after leading 2-0 after the first inning. N’Coreyia Atkins had the lone RBI for FWHS, which was held to four hits. Kadence Compton pitched a complete game in the loss, finishing with seven strikeouts with only one run earned on four hits.

— Williston 3, Branford 2: Ellie Frierson and Morgan Brennan had RBI hits in the first inning to give the Buccaneers (6-3) an early lead, but Mallory Blue allowed three runs over the next two innings and lasted just three total as the Red Devils (6-4) rallied for victory at BHS. Only one of the runs was earned against Blue, who allowed five hits and a walk. Laila Arnold replaced her and kept WHS off the board over the final four innings, allowing just three hits while striking out four.

— Lafayette 11, Madison County 10: The Hornets (5-6) rallied with nine runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to beat the Cowgirls (5-4) at home. Ella McAdams and Miley McCray each had two RBIs, while Bella Vann, Ella Hancock and Emma Revels each had one in the win. Khloe Crotts allowed six runs — three earned — on six hits with a pair of strikeouts while Clara Knight allowed two unearned runs in two innings and Revels allowed two — one earned — i 1/3 of an inning for LHS.

BASEBALL

— Branford 12, Hamilton County 5: Caden Gaskins and Austin Humphries each had three RBIs while Kyler Williamson drove in another run to lead the Buccaneers (3-4) past the Trojans (0-6) at home. Williamson pitched four innings and allowed four runs — three earned — on three hits and two walks with six strikeouts. Haiden Ward pitched the other three frames, surrendering an unearned run on a pair of hits and two walks while striking out three.

FLAG FOOTBALL

— Niceville 21, Suwannee 6: The Bulldogs (6-1) dropped their first game of the season, falling to the Eagles (5-2) in a tournament game at the FSU Rec Sportsplex.
