— Newberry 69, Fort White 62: Despite 17 points apiece from Brandon DeMartino and Garrett Brady, the Class 1A No. 10 Indians (14-5) had their nine-game winning streak snapped by the Class 1A No. 6 Panthers (19-4) on the road Friday night in District 6-1A action. Tafari Moe added 16 points for FWHS and Najeeb Smith had eight.

— Lafayette 44, Branford 38: The Hornets (6-13) topped the Buccaneers (16-7) on the road Friday night in District 5-1A action.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

— Lafayette 49, Branford 40: Kiley Beach scored 26 points and had nine rebounds to lead the Hornets (10-10) past the Buccaneers (11-10) on the road Friday night in District 5-1A action to cap off their regular seasons.

BOYS SOCCER

— Lafayette 8, Trenton 0: The No. 3 seed Hornets (11-9) beat the No. 6 seed Tigers (5-16) via mercy rule in the District 2-2A quarterfinals at St. Francis Catholic on Friday night. LHS advances to face No. 2 Oak Hall in the semifinals.

GIRLS SOCCER

— Suwannee 5, Eastside 3: The No. 2 seed Bulldogs (6-8-1) scored two late goals to top the No. 3 seed Rams (4-6-3) in the District 2-4A semifinals at Santa Fe on Friday night. SHS advances to face top-seeded Santa Fe in championship on Monday at 7 p.m.

— Williston 3, Fort White 1: The No. 6 Indians (6-12-1) fell to the No. 3 seed Red Devils (8-6-1) in the District 4-3A quarterfinals at P.K. Yonge on Friday night, ending their season.
