BOYS BASKETBALL

— Vanguard 35, Columbia 33: Justice Kelly hit three 3-pointers for nine points and Braiden North added eight, but the Tigers (9-7) dropped a low-scoring affair to the Knights (9-6) in the MLK Shootout at Forest High School on Saturday night. Cameron Powell and Johnardo Turner each had nine points for VHS.

— Buchholz 76, Fort White 66: Brandon DeMartino scored 25 points but the Indians (12-3) fell to the Bobcats (10-6) at the Gatortown Shootout on Saturday night. Jayden Jackson and Tafari Moe also finished in double figures with 14 points apiece for FWHS.

— Suwannee 64, Trinity Catholic 52

GIRLS BASKETBALL

— Columbia 51, Leon 17: Mariah Cox recorded her first double-double of the season with 15 points and 10 steals while Jolena Gardner also had a double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds to go with five blocks and five steals to lead the Tigers (7-6) to a blowout win over the Lions (4-12) at the Blue Wave Classic at P.K. Yonge on Saturday afternoon. Ayesha Broxey added nine points and seven steals for CHS, which finished the game with 38 steals. Eriel Baker once again didn’t play for the Tigers due to an eye injury.

BOYS SOCCER

— Branford 2, Fort White 2: Victor Hernandez and Alan McGiff each scored a goal while Hector Velasquez had an assist to help the Buccaneers (3-7-1) tie the Indians (4-6-2) on the road Saturday night.

GIRLS SOCCER

— Branford 2, Fort White 0: Savannah Creech scored two goals, including one on an assist from Ashley Keane, to lead the Buccaneers (5-5-3) to their first district win in program history on Saturday over the Indians (3-6-2) on the road. BHS goalkeeper Zoe Nahabetian made nine saves for the shutout.
