— Williston 8, Branford 0: The No. 6 seed Buccaneers (8-7-3) lost to the No. 3 seed Red Devils (11-4) via mercy rule on the road Thursday night in the District 4-3A quarterfinals. The loss ends Branford’s season.
GIRLS BASKETBALL
— Trinity Catholic 58, Columbia 25: Ayesha Broxey scored 10 points but the Tigers (11-9) were blown out by the Celtics (14-7) on the road Thursday night. The game was called with five minutes remaining when an on-court altercation between the teams resulted in Trinity Catholic’s bench clearing.
— Trenton 54, Lafayette 32: Kelby Lyons scored eight points while Bre Roberson and Tristan Campbell each had seven, but the Hornets (12-5) were blown out by the Tigers (17-2) at home Thursday night. Roberson grabbed 11 rebounds and Campbell had 10 boards.
