The Columbia boys once again defended their title at the Tiger Run on Saturday at the Columbia County Fairgrounds, led by a first-place finish by Nolan Martin.
Martin ran the race in 18:00.41 minutes, while teammate Joshua Thompson placed second in 18:20.77. The Tigers tallied 28 points, cruising past second-place Bishop Snyder (68). Also scoring for CHS were Nathan Matsubara in seventh (18:46.15), Brandyn Pope in eighth (18:48.05), Timmy Todd in 10th (19:22.17), Dylan Aspenwall in 17th (20:18.50) and Jacob McLeod in 21st (21:01.45).
The girls race was won by Branford with 31 points ahead of Bishop Snyder (57) thanks to a gold medal from Anna Moore, who won a gold medal by more than a minute with a run of 20:36.00. Also scoring for Branford were Kayleigh Wardle in third (22:11.32), Kelbie Snider in seventh (23:16.54), Delilah Poore in ninth (23:49.40), Ella Harris in 11th (24:22.39), Kalyn Osgood in 16th (25:42.95) and Brianna Barrs in 40th (33:00.28).
Abigail Candler placed fifth (22:56.53) to lead Columbia’s girls, who finished third with 59 points. Also scoring for the CHS girls were Morgan Golden in 12th (24:25.24), Mallory Golden in 13th (24:43.42), Kendall Todd in 14th (25:02.87), Laelle Thompson in 15th (25:10.33), Vanessa Todd, 21st (26:24.62) and Kensi Shaw in 26th (27:54.91).
Fort White didn’t have enough runners to score but four ran the race, led by Daelyn Cooper in 17th (25:52.17). Raffaellie Carreras finished 24th (27:27.60), Madison Bishop was 35th (29:43.20) and Keagan Ayers was 36th (30:45.18).
Branford’s boys finished sixth, led by Nathaniel Rojas in 15th (20:11.96). Also scoring for the Buccaneers were Ayden Humphries in 31st (22:28.90), Matthew Lynn in 32nd (22:29.30), Zander Hegenauer in 33rd (22:30.60), Brendan Hegenauer in 49th (24:47.73) and Kalix Smith in 59th (29:03.13).
