BOYS BASKETBALL: Suwannee’s season ends, Lafayette advances to district semis

Amarie Fleming recorded a double-double with 25 points and 17 rebounds to lead No. 4 seed Lafayette to a 67-43 win over No. 5 seed Hamilton County on the road Tuesday night.

Tywan Williamson added eight points, eight assists and three steals, while Jordan Murphy also scored eight points to go with three steals for the Hornets (12-8). Durand Driver chipped in with seven points and Jalen Hill grabbed 13 rebounds while scoring six points to help take down the Trojans (1-14).

The win sends Lafayette to tonight’s district semifinals against top-seeded Hilliard.

DISTRICT 5-4A

Suwannee’s season ended with a 63-55 loss to Eastside in the District 5-4A quarterfinals on the road Tuesday night.

Davion Pugh led the No. 4 seed Rams (7-16) with 18 points, while Jarrell Comer had a double-double with 15 points and 13 rebounds. Dante Bay added nine points with six assists to help top the No. 5 seed Bulldogs (9-14).
