Two people are dead following a domestic disturbance and a deputy-involved shooting in a mobile home park on U.S. Highway 441 South Friday afternoon.
According to a Columbia County Sheriff’s Office release, a deputy was dispatched to a domestic disturbance at a residence on SE Patio Glen around 4 p.m. Friday.
When the deputy arrived, they saw a man shoot a woman before opening fire on the man and shooting him. Both the man and woman were pronounced dead at the scene by EMS personnel. The deputy was uninjured.
While CCSO cleared and secured the scene, the release said the investigation is ongoing.
The Florida Department of Law Enforcement will take the lead in the investigation, and an administrative review will be conducted.
