LO teen, Lake City pair tied to June shooting

GAINESVILLE — A Live Oak teen arrested Wednesday is connected to an armed home invasion robbery and shooting that left a man paralyzed in June. A pair of Lake City men have also been charged for their roles in the incident, all charged with home invasion robbery and attempted murder.

Special counsel appointed to investigate Biden docs

WASHINGTON — Attorney General Merrick Garland on Thursday appointed a special counsel to investigate the presence of classified documents found at President Joe Biden’s home in Wilmington, Delaware, and at an unsecured office in Washington dating from his time as vice president.

Immigration tests DeSantis as he weighs candidacy

TAVERNIER — Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis sent dozens of immigrants from Texas to an island off the Massachusetts coast last year in a high-profile effort to highlight illegal immigration on the eve of the midterm elections.

LO teen arrested for attempted murder

A Live Oak man wanted for attempted murder in Gainesville was apprehended Wednesday in Suwannee County. According to a Suwannee County Sheriff’s Office release, SCSO investigators helped the U.S. Marshals Service locate and arrest Rahzon Tee-Von Fennell-Demeritte, 18, on Wednesday morning.

LIVE OAK — December matched 2022 as a whole when it came to rainfall in North Florida: below average. According to the Suwannee River Water Management District’s hydrologic conditions report for December, the district’s 15 county area received an average of 1.

Starvation still a concern as manatee deaths drop
