Rich Latko’s family planned on driving their RV to Tallahassee after evacuating from Palm Coast, but decided instead to wait out Hurricane Matthew in front of the Lake City Walmart.
According to the latest update from the National Weather Service in Jacksonville, Columbia County could possibly see wind gusts of 30 to 35 mph beginning Friday at approximately 9 a.m. EST.
The City of Lake City will activate its Emergency Operation Center at 8 a.m. Friday.
