FORT WHITE — The Fort White High School football team was the guest of honor during a Thursday afternoon school spirit pep rally.
At the pep rally hundreds of screaming students decked out in red and black clothes cheered the team; the school band played the school fight song to amp the team and teachers and community members celebrated as if they were once again high school students to relax the team — all activities to support the football team as it prepared to embark on its Thursday afternoon road trip for a playoff game tonight.
Fort White High School principal Keith Hatcher said the entire student body, approximately,
1, 200 students, as well as community members and members of the school’s faculty and staff, participated in the send-off.
“It’s become a tradition,” Hatcher said of the send-off. “We had a send-off last year and we were very successful in the game. We thought it was very important for the football team to see the student and fan support and we thought it was important for them to see it again this year.”

“They (football players) have been working very hard throughout this school year in order to make it
this far once again,” said Fort White High School student activities director Sheri Keen. “This is their second year going to the state playoffs.”
