FORT WHITE — For the first time in school history, the Fort White Indians will be making back-to-back playoff appearances.
With their 49-7 demolishing of the Taylor County Bulldogs on Friday night, the Indians clinched the runner-up spot in District 2-2A securing a trip to take on the Pensacola Catholic Crusaders in the first round of the 2A playoffs.
Due to the length of the trip the coaching staff for the Indians have requested that Fort White travel out to Pensacola on Thursday night in order to be well rested for the playoff matchup on that Friday. The plan is for the Indians to charter a bus back following the outcome of the game.
The estimated cost of the trip is $9,000.
The Fort White booster club is asking for sponsorship at three different levels.
Corporate level sponsors must donate $1,000 or more, and will receive a centrally displayed listing on the team banner during the playoff games. Also, the booster club will provide a full page add in next year’s football program if desired.
The Golden Chief level sponsor is of $500 or more, and will also get a listing on the team banner to be displayed during the playoff games as well as a listing in the football program.
Indian booster level sponsors will be of $100 or more, and will be recognized as a playoff sponsor in the program as well as secure a spot on the team banner.
“We’re just asking if anyone can donate in any amount,” quarterback club member Shayne Morgan said. “If they can meet one of our levels, that’s great. If not any amount would be greatly appreciated by our players and coaches.”
Donations can be made to the Fort White High School Athletic Association as well as the Fort White Quarterback Club.
The quarterback club is currently in the application process of becoming a not-for-profit 501 (c) 3 organization.
People wishing to ensure a tax deduction should donate directly to Fort White athletics.
