The Fort White Indians returned to Arrowhead Stadium after a bye week with a 44-27 win against rival Dixie County High.

Xavier Blake was a one-man show on the night scoring six touchdowns and rushing for 212 yards on 30 carries.

Fort White scored on its second possession after quarterback Alex Gilmer picked up an

11-yard run to pick up a third down to set up Xavier Blake’s first score of the night from 25 yards out.

Dixie’s Rodney Scott would break a kickoff

90 yards for a touchdown to tie the game back up, but Blake added his second touchdown from 14 yards out on the next possession.

It looked like Scott would continue from there, but Alexis Blake forced a fumble after running Scott down.

Gilmer then connected with Alexis Blake on a

24-yard pass to the 1 with Xavier Blake running it in on the next play.

Michael West moved the Bears down field, and Scott topped off the drive.

After a shanked punt, Gilmer found Levi Hatcher on a pass to the 2-yard line. Blake added his fourth touchdown of the half with 1:36 remaining in the half.

Blake opened the second half the way he ended the first with a 54-yard touchdown run. The Bears cut the score to 34-21 with 7:45 remaining in the third quarter after another Scott touchdown.

Anthony Smalls recovered a fumble, and put the Indians in scoring position. Joseph Johnson would add a 27-yard field goal to extend the lead to 37-21.

The Indians looked to have another touchdown when Roy Blake intercepted a pass, and returned it 45 yards for a touchdown. However, a block in the back would call the play back allowing the Indians to kill some of the

gameclock.

After a Matt Hatcher punt, the Indians got an interception from Jordan Dewhirst.

With over eight minutes remaining in the game, Xavier Blake took over the clock with runs of 17,12, and finally eight yards for his sixth rushing touchdown of the game.

With the Bears down

44-21, Scott would take it

71-yards in the running back duel to cut the lead to 44-27, and that’s the way it would stay after Levi Hatcher recovered the onside kick.

“You talk about having a game out of this world.” CoachDemetric Jackson said in response to Blake’s night. “Montre Cray had a great game blocking for Xavier. Xavier will get the credit, but Montre played great against big physical players. This was a great team win”

" What a great game! I enjoyed watching these young men play 4 full quarters of football. Even at times when emotions were peaking, these players kept level heads and stuck to a well coached game plan. Were off to a great season and the stands seem to get fuller each game. I thought the new student section was a big hit and the band did a great job keeping the crowd motivated. Great win! Keep up the intensity at practive this week. "
