Lake City Middle School improved to 1-1 by defeating Orange Park Junior High, 34-13, at Columbia High Stadium on Tuesday.
The Falcons’ Antonio Baker took a reverse 25-yards for the game’s opening score. However, Orange Park tied it with a 43-yard pass from Thaddeus Cooper to Bryce Wheeler.
Devontae’ Levy set up a Rakeem Battle touchdown with three broken tackles on a punt return to the 50 to make the score 14-7 at the half. Levy would score on his own next time to make the score 21-7 in the third.
After an Orange Park score made it 21-13, the Falcons put the game away with Braxton Stockten going in for the score.
The Falcons weren’t done yet though as Levy intercepted a late pass, and returned it for the final touchdown in a 34-13 win for Lake City.
Next up for the Falcons will be Lakeside Junior High at 6:00 p.m. on Sept. 23. The game will be at Ridgeview High School.
