Best-selling author Lewis plan book signing
Event planned from 7 to 8 p.m. at Lake City Christian Supply.
From staff reports
New York Times best-selling author Beverly Lewis will be signing her latest novel, “The Forbidden,” for fans this evening at Lake City Christian Supply.
Lewis will be at the store from 7 to 8 p.m.
Lewis’ books focus on Amish life and have sold more than 6 million copies since debuting in 1997.
A family history that included family members that belong to the Old Order Mennonites and being born in Lancaster, Pa., inspired her to focus on Amish culture in her writing. Her current release, “The Forbidden,” is the second book in the series titled “The Courtship of Nellie Fisher.”
The book centers around a young Amish couple’s quest for love amid opposition and upheaval.
Nellie Mae Fisher and Caleb Yoder fight to be together as faith and family threaten to tear them apart.
Lewis has been on the best seller lists of the New York Times and USA Today. In 2007 she won a Christy Award for Excellence in Christian fiction for her novel entitled “The Brethren.”
She has written more than 70 books including several series for children.
