Marion’s hyper sub great story of American inspiration
If you had the chance to travel back in time and visit with Orville and Wilbur Wright and discuss their newfangled flying machine, wouldn’t you jump at the chance? You have a similar opportunity on Saturday in Lake Butler.
Reynolds Marion’s hyper sub watercraft will be on display at Sprinkler’s Field from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The public is invited to take a look and talk to the Lake City developer who built the world’s first boat/submarine combination in a garage in Lake Butler.
Marion’s invention is an innovation that may be the next flying machine of its kind. It’s a cutting-edge development that has drawn interest from the military for possible Special Forces use.
The hyper sub is part boat, part submarine and early tests of the craft have been positive and successful.
Marion is a great story of American inspiration. He had the dream of building the hyper sub since he was a kid. He had the picture in his head and he worked on the sketches for decades, then with planning, his vision became a reality. He assembled a small team, worked out of a garage in Lake Butler, then completed sea tests at Kingsley Lake near Starke.
We couldn’t be more proud that an innovator with Marion’s expertise calls Lake City home.
His story is exciting and where the future takes him is unclear, but he has invented something that appears to be futuristic and revolutionary. Go check out his hyper sub on Saturday. You might be in the front row of history.
We can’t wait to announce and cover Marion’s next milestone.
